Boco played hosts to the well respected Chilcompton team today on a glorious spring afternoon. With expectations of some great football neither team disappointed as the game got off to a flying start by Jack Madge needing to make an early save from a well hit Chilcompton ball. At the other end Joe Cox was on great form as he made some neat and fast little runs to get the ball through to the two front Jacks. Despite some great plays it took a while for the ball to settle and Boco get into their usual rhythm. On the quarter hour mark though will intercepted a Chilcompton attach and sent the ball along the line for Callum to take up the charge, He passed three defenders before unselfishly laying the ball off for Cousin Jack to hit a blinding shot that left the keeper no chance and opening the scoring account. Boco now started to push and a well executed corner by Callum sawTom Norley first blast the ball and then head it on the rebound into the keepers hands. Chilcompton were always a very competent team and gained confidence with little runs that made Will, Liam Luke and Tom work to defend the goal. Alex took a free kick on the half hour just outside the Chilcompton box. The ball went short to Sam who switched the play to Joe. Joe put the cross into the box but Jack Ball could not quite make contact to finish the move. Sam, jack Green and Callum all had chances but each one went slightly wide or over the bar. With only injury time of the first half left Jack B picked up a poor goal kick and charged to the back line. His cross met Sam who shot and saw the keeper dive and let the ball go through his legs to make it a halftime score of 2-0.

The second half was similar to the first as Boco started to play some great passing football Brad and Harry’s fresh legs provided pace in midfield whilst Tom P gave strength at the front against the towering Chilcompton defence. The opposition were still able to break though, but Liam and Tom had it covered and protected Jack Madge from any danger and Luke managed to clear one corner attempt off the line. Greener just kept running and placed a super ball into the area which Harry glided onto and thundered in for number three. Joe continued to work his socks off twisting and turning to play the ball forwards. His persistence paid off and he added a goal to his tally  with his trademark turning shot to finish the gae 4-0. A great game played in good spirits with two great battling teams
