Playing away from home is always more difficult than it seems and today was to prove this. With a pitch change to Ashton Park School Boco prepared for a tough game against Ashton boys A team. The sunny weather was a great to see at last and the game started at a furious pace. An early ball from Liam saw Joe Cox trap the ball turn and run towards the line a simple knock to Jack Ball who headed it across the goal and saw Greener run on to it for the first goal in less than two minutes of play.

From the restart Ashton were fast and physical and were judged to have been fouled by Boco in the penalty box. Their number 9 cleanly placed the ball past Jack Madge who despite his great stretch could not reach the ball. Making one a piece in under 5 minutes of play. The Boco team tried to keep the ball down and play the football they are renown for but Ashton weren’t allowing them to do this and Boco received numerous free kicks that interrupted the flow of play. On the quarter hour, Tom N took an excellent free kick which Bradley got his head to but the keeper managed to palm it wide for the corner. Alex took a short corner to Brad which saw Tom N charge in and shoot just to the right of the post. Boco held their own and created most of the chances. Jack Ball placed the ball high to Joe, whose volley again just went wide. The defence of Liam , Tom, Luke and Callum stood strong despite some heavy challenges and it was right on half time that a low strong free kick from Brad on the edge of the Ashton box thundered through the wall and past the keeper to end the half 2 -1 up to Boco.

Sam came on for the injured Will in the 2nd half and got straight to work pushing the ball forward, however a defensive mistake saw Ashton through on goal and the scores again became equal. The rest of the game became a bit scrappy and physical but  with brilliant composure and play maintained by the Boco side. Only 12 minutes into the second half Jack Ball was pulled down inside the penalty area and this well converted penalty put the visitors ahead again. Every member of the Boco team gave their all in a challenging game that saw a well earned three points
