A blustery day saw top versus bottom in the league. As Boco know though there are no easy games in this division and that they needed to be on top form if they wanted to walk away with the full 3 points from this tie. The first 10 minutes was a real end to end affair with neither team gaining any real advantage. An early mighty  throw from Jack Madge  found Jack Green just before the half way line. His quick thinking saw a beautiful ball played through to Alex for a run at goal. Only great defending by St Nicks saw the ball go wide for a corner. This gave Boco confidence and minutes later  a lovely ball from Luke to Jack Ball saw Alex through agaim this time his shot drifting just wide. Boco could not relax because St nicks were fast on the counter attack but the back four of Callum, Tom, Luke and Sam ensured it was dealt with early. Boco kept up the pressure and right on half time a great pass from Tom N saw Joe free and the keeper had to really stretch to prevent it hitting the net.

The second half continued to be a battle with Boco never really getting an opportunity to break in their usual  stride. A chance came when Brad got a well timed cross across the goal. Greener hit it with pace only to see it hit the post and skim along the goal line for the keeper to safely gather. There was some strong play from Joe and Harry who kept the midfield moving the ball forward and Tom P got some sharp  crossesinto the box for Tom n to head just over. The goal finally came thanks to Harry who played a dummy to the defender which saw Alex through who made no mistake of finishing the job. The rest of the half saw chances for both team and Will and Liam were involved in some good defensive moves to keep the ball moving forward.

A great battle in poor conditions. The pitch was in great condition and thanks go to the groundsmen who made the game a possibility.

Final score Boco 1- st Nicholas 0
