With a Christmas break and a wet January, this was the first game for both teams in almost 5 weeks. Cup ties are always unpredictable and today both Division 1 teams knew they had a chance on a small and soggy pitch. Boco started at their usual fast pace and it was not long before a ball through by Harry saw Jack G shoot and bounce the ball off the left post. A free kick just five minutes in saw a deflection of a defender and Bradley power a shot which the St Nics keeper did well to get to. Joe, Alex and Sam  battled in the middle of the pitch to ensure the Jack's were well fed in the St Nics half. The pressure was relentless and on the 15 minute mark a superb pinpoint cross found Jack Ball rising to head the ball past the keeper and open the scoring for the home team. The pressure stayed on although st Nics always looked dangerous on the break and it took hard work by Liam,Tom,  Callum and Luke to ensure the ball stayed out of Jack Madge's area. Greener showed his power running 30 yards with the ball before a defender just denied his shot rounding the keeper. A poor goal kick was pounced on by Greener and his shot went just over the bar. Callum put in a great throw to Greener who placed an unsighted Jack Ball through to twist and volley the ball which again the keeper had to stretch to save. the chances were many but the St Nics keeper ensured that the score stayed at 1-0 as the teams went in for half time.

The second half saw a more fiery St Nics and they came back with determination and a habit of being quick on the break. Boco still had their chances with Liam, both Jacks,Brad,Tom P, Sam and Harry all shooting but never quite finding the back of the net.The St Nics defence were kept busy and defended well throughout. At the 60 minute mark a rogue ball got  Boco past the back four and St Nics scored a blinder of a goal which Jack Madge had no chance of getting to. This made the pace more frantic and St Nics pushed even harder .Boco kept their composure and shape and were ensuring they were first to the loose ball. With just five minutes to go  before extra time loomed Harry set off across the middle to the right side and crossed the ball into the area. Will was moving from the left wing and his diving header wrong footed the keeper to seal the game and see Boco into the cup final. A great battle in difficult conditions saw a close run semi with lots of excitement.
