A cup tie saw two Division 1 teams come together to earn a place in the Quarter finals of this years league cup. Boco were put under pressure right from the whistle, making the back back four of Liam,Tom N,Callum and Luke earn their keep defending hard and clearing the ball. Boco conceded four corners in as many minutes. It was a full 10 minutes before it moved into the St Vallier half from Joe Cox who linked up with a fast moving Alex to have the first chance in the game which went marginally wide, Boco continued to look shaky with St Vallier's simple balls slipping through the midfield and Boco being second to every ball. A St V free kick on the edge of the box saw the wall stand firm and the rebound sent the Jacks charging back up the field, the on shot target being pushed wide by the keeper for a corner. St Vallier continued to niggle and Boco continued to conceded a number of free kicks close to goal, all defended and saved by Jack Madge. The midfield appeared half asleep and all Alex's running was wasted as there was no one in the box to put it away.the 30 minute mark saw changes with Harry and Liam off and Will and Josh on and a new ball. A spectator noted that the game improved once the red ball was changed!  another great run bu Alex saw a cross come in for Joe to connect with and see just sail over the bar. The half time whistle could not come too soon, when the vallier goal keeper kicked short Jack ball picked up on this slotted the ball through to Jack Green who made no mistake of opening the score. A lacklustre half with the best part being Helen's cherry cake!!!
The second half was again slow to start but on the 60 minute mark Boco started to get into their stride.the ball started to move along at pace and Alex, Jack,Harry and Will all put shots on target but none would go in. it took a huge kick that from Madgey that traveled over half way line, bounced over two defenders and found Greener waiting to take it to the back line before pulling it back to Jack Balls feet to expertly place it between the keepers legs for goal number 2. that was how it ended a tough ,raggedy game but a secure place into the quarters for BOCO
