With a Christmas break and a wet January, this was the first game for both teams in almost 5 weeks. Cup ties are always unpredictable and today both Division 1 teams knew they had a chance on a small and soggy pitch. Boco started at their usual fast pace and it was not long before a ball through by Harry saw Jack G shoot and bounce the ball off the left post. A free kick just five minutes in saw a deflection of a defender and Bradley power a shot which the St Nics keeper did well to get to. Joe, Alex and Sam  battled in the middle of the pitch to ensure the Jack's were well fed in the St Nics half. The pressure was relentless and on the 15 minute mark a superb pinpoint cross found Jack Ball rising to head the ball past the keeper and open the scoring for the home team. The pressure stayed on although st Nics always looked dangerous on the break and it took hard work by Liam,Tom,  Callum and Luke to ensure the ball stayed out of Jack Madge's area. Greener showed his power running 30 yards with the ball before a defender just denied his shot rounding the keeper. A poor goal kick was pounced on by Greener and his shot went just over the bar. Callum put in a great throw to Greener who placed an unsighted Jack Ball through to twist and volley the ball which again the keeper had to stretch to save. the chances were many but the St Nics keeper ensured that the score stayed at 1-0 as the teams went in for half time.

The second half saw a more fiery St Nics and they came back with determination and a habit of being quick on the break. Boco still had their chances with Liam, both Jacks,Brad,Tom P, Sam and Harry all shooting but never quite finding the back of the net.The St Nics defence were kept busy and defended well throughout. At the 60 minute mark a rogue ball got  Boco past the back four and St Nics scored a blinder of a goal which Jack Madge had no chance of getting to. This made the pace more frantic and St Nics pushed even harder .Boco kept their composure and shape and were ensuring they were first to the loose ball. With just five minutes to go  before extra time loomed Harry set off across the middle to the right side and crossed the ball into the area. Will was moving from the left wing and his diving header wrong footed the keeper to seal the game and see Boco into the cup final. A great battle in difficult conditions saw a close run semi with lots of excitement.

Final score Boco 2- St Nics 1

Home advantage showed early as Boco immediately got to work attacking the Thornbury goal. Greener soon fired off a cross that met Jack Ball's head which the keeper had to jump to save.Jack Madge made a huge kick that passed the half way line to Jack Green he shot hard and t e keeper had to palm the ball away for a corner. A fine corner by Bradley met Tom Norley's head which sailed just above the bar. Brad, Alex and Sam showed great skills moving the ball effortlessly across the ground.  Alex, Greener and  Tom Patton all had shots denied it was on the 25 minute mark that a free kick on the edge of the box saw the ball reach Alex Whale who span and placed the ball with a thunderous shot into the right hand corner beyond the keepers reach.Thornbury looked dangerous when on the break  but Callum, Liam ,Madgey and Luke all dealt with the danger coolly and calmly. on the stroke of half time Alex fed a cross to Jack Ball who fed it through the defenders to tap in number two.

The second half saw Will,Joe and Josh replace Callum, Brad and Sam.Boco kept the pressure up from the off ensuring the ball stayed in the Thornbury half. Josh fed the ball through to Jack Ball who found Alex in the box his cross again found the head of Greener for goal number three.Joe had some great runs from midfield and was brought down in the box. The referee immediately pointed to the spot. Jack Green stepped up and blasted it high over the bar  into the next field. the attack on goal was relentless and Alex and Sam both  hit the post and Greener's shot was cleared off the line. It was only the outstanding skill of the Thornbury keeper that kept the score to three. Towards the end Thornbury were awarded a penalty but Madgey made himself big and saved the ball keeping the final score at 3-0

This was never going to be an easy game as two old rivals met on a cold, dull day  in Yate, Boco set off with some skillful passing and a speed we are now used to expecting from this first class team. The midfield of Brad,Joe, Alex and Sam soon got to work with great forward passes Joe made a great run down the left and his shot flew just wide of the post. This got the rest of the team on their toes and shots by Sam, Callum and Jack Green all met the safe hands of the Yate Keeper. The second twenty of the half however saw Yate gain confidence and start to put the ball into the Boco half. Boco started to seem slow to the ball and the passing was less accurate than it could have been allowing Yate to intercept and have a number of shots at goal. Yate looked dangerous from small breaks and corners. Fortuantely Jack Madge was alert and Liam,Tom, Callum and Luke ensured the back line stayed strong and the danger was quickly dispersed.

Not sure what the manager said at half time but Boco came back with a renewed vigour at the restart. Will made an early cross into Greener's path but it was deflected for a corner that was expertly delivered by Brad but saw  the keeper in the way again. Yate were always dangerous and it took all of Jacks skill to tip the ball over the bar. Joe and Alex showed some great teamwork in placing the ball into the box but it would just not go in despite the two jacks doing their best to find the hole between the white sticks! With just ten minutes to go Jack Green ran from halfway past two defenders to cross a perfect ball to Alex who made no mistake in ensuring he stretched the back of the net with his thunderous shot. Yate continued to the end to trouble Boco but they hung on to take the three points in a close run game which could have gone either way. final score Yate 0- Boco 1

Having met for the second time in a month, Boco knew this would be a tough game. The start was fast paced by both teams with neither team taking advantage of the other. Tom Patton returned to goal for this game and was soon in action showing he still has a safe pair of hands. Boco tried to push forward but were met by a tight back four and had to move the ball around to maintain possession. A great run by Tom Norley saw him pass five defenders before whipping it to the right for Joe Cox, Joe's excellent first time cross found the head of Jack Ball but went just wide. In the mean time the back four got caught napping and the Vallier striker was onto the mistake. Whilst the ball went in the referee disallowed the goal for an offside infringement proving a lucky escape for Boco.
